Our staff often facilitate exciting opportunities for students to engage in activities locally and overseas, adding valuable experience and knowledge to their student experience.

Recent opportunities include

  • Internships with the television show Who do you think you are?, 2015
  • Scholarships for students doing Asian history to the National University of Singapore Summer School that includes trips to Asia, 2016.
  • Travel grants for Asian history students to attend the Asian Studies Association of Australia, 2016
  • Travel grants for honours students and postgraduates to attend the international seminar held at UNSW: “Empire: an opportunity for subject peoples?”, August 2013.
  • Internships with Filipino NGOs in the Philippines and with the Powerhouse Museum.
  • Supervised archaeological research in the Balkans with Dr Sean Ross.
  • International symposium and public debate on the poet C.P. Cavafy, June, 2013.
