"Marx and Recognition" A Workshop at the School of Humanities and Languages
Who:Humanities & Languages
Venue:UNSW, Kensington Campus, John Goodsell Building, room 119
When:23 Aug 2013, 10am - 6:15pm

There is a recent revival of interest in the philosophy, philosophical anthropology and social theory of Karl Marx. Much of the new work in this area focuses on Hegel’s and the Left Hegelians’ influence on Marx’s thinking, and the Hegelian concept of ‘recognition’, widely discussed in contemporary social and political philosophy, is one of the perspectives from which Marx is being interpreted today. This workshop focuses on Marx, recognition, and closely related themes.
