The Great Irish Famine Commemoration Committee will be hosting the International Famine Commemorations for 2013, here in Sydney 23-25 August.

Global Irish Studies Centre Adjunct Lecturer and Chair of the Great Irish Famine Commemoration Committee Dr Perry McIntyre is co-ordinating the commemoration activities, which will be held along Sydney’s historic Macquarie Street.

The week’s events will culminate in Sunday’s Annual Gathering of friends and descendant of the famine girls who migrated from famine-ridden Ireland to Australia's colonial shores.
