A/Prof Grace Karkens to present at symposium in honour of Governor Arthur Phillip

2014 marks the bicentenary of the death of Governor Arthur Phillip, commander of the First Fleet and Australia's first Governor. A full day symposium with some of Australia’s most significant scholars of colonial history reveal the contributions Phillip made to the founding of modern Australia. The symposium will be held at the Museum of Sydney on Friday 5 September. A/Prof Grace Karskens is included on the program will speak on “Phillip and the Eora.”

Arthur Phillip will be memorialised with the unveiling of a bust in the Museum of Sydney forecourt on Thursday 28 August. Kaskesn will be the spokesperson for Sydney Living Museums in a television program the ABC are planning on Phillip and this event.
