Current Environmental Management Students

UNSW has made some changes to the way we deliver our postgraduate programs in Environmental Management, including the flagship Master of Environmental Management (MEM). In 2017, these programs will transition from UNSW Science to be hosted and taught out of UNSW Arts & Social Sciences.

Current students will not be affected by these changes and UNSW will continue to deliver innovative and interdisciplinary Environmental Management postgraduate programs that combine a solid foundation in environmental management and policy. You will still be able to choose from a diverse selection of courses from both Arts & Social Sciences and Science, as well as a range of electives offered by other UNSW Faculties.

Students may choose electives offered outside Environmental Management from a pre-approved list or as approved by the School and/or Postgraduate Coordinator.

If you are unable to enrol in an elective from another UNSW School or Faculty, please contact for approval. Once you have approval, you will need to contact the appropriate School Administrator for that particular course (information can be found on the Handbook).

All electives MUST be postgraduate courses, and need to be directly related to the direction in which you wish to take your program.

The list of approved electives is as follows:
